Arizona Grantmakers Forum Peer Connections

AGF Peer Connections is a new, optional service provided to members who want a more personalized learning experience as a grantmaker.  Participants might be new to AGF or new to grantmaking, and will be matched with an experienced AGF grantmaker who has expertise in a particular area of philanthropy (a "peer resource").

The program is designed to help AGF members:
--Accelerate learning about a particular aspect of grantmaking
--Jump-start the development of a network of funders and nonprofit colleagues
--Learn about relevant resource organizations and access other, helpful materials
--Develop specific grantmaking skills (e.g. grants management software)

AGF encourages all of its members to become involved in this initiative, as we've found that the Peer Connections relationship fosters learning all around. One of AGF's major goals is to provide our members with ongoing opportunities to share ideas and experiences, leverage resources, and collaborate.  Peer Connections is a way to do this at a one-on-one level, making strategic connections and strengthening our statewide network of grantmakers.

Peer Connections Program Details
Peer Connections is meant to connect AGF members who are seeking answers to specific questions with other members who have the experience to help.  This program is great for members who need help with a particular aspect of their work (due diligence practices, funding advocacy, financial management, etc.) and need some advice from someone who has been through it. Participants are completely in charge of their own Peer Connections experience - you may need to connect only for a few helpful phone calls, or you may want a longer-term relationship to get you started as a grantmaker or get you through a specific challenge at your foundation.  For some examples of situations in which Peer Connections can work for you, please click here.

If you are interested in becoming a Peer Resource, or would like to find a Peer Resource, click below to enroll in the program.  You will be asked to provide us with a brief description of the areas in which you seek advice or input from a more experienced grantmaker, and/or the various areas of professional expertise you have to share with your colleagues. AGF will then contact you to complete the match - click here to learn more about becoming a Peer Resource.
