Stacey Brechler-Knaggs

Grants Manager,
City of Flagstaff

Vital Stats: Stacey is an Arizona native, born and raised in Phoenix. She has been married for 15 years and has two children, a daugter, Colleen age 14 and a 6-year-old son, Matthew. She went to college at Northern Arizona University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1983, then began working for the City of Flagstaff in 1984.

First/Most Interesting Job: One of my most interesting jobs was working at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport in the main terminal as a Security Guard Supervisor. In the job you met a lot of people and needed excellent customer service skills to successfully deal with the high volume of people flying in and out of the terminal. The job taught me how to work well with all types of people and has helped over the years in working with grantmakers in building relationships.

Hobbies/Favorite Pastime: I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, camping and hiking in the beautiful outdoors, and reading a good book.

Path to Philanthropy: I enjoy living in Flagstaff and care about our community, and I continue to strive to make Flagstaff a great place to live and raise my family. I have worked for the City of Flagstaff for almost 24 years and have been administering grants for 13 years. It has been a pleasure that through my job of grantmaking and grantseeking I have been able to administer over $15 million a year to support various city projects to make Flagstaff a special place.

Current Position: Grants Manager, City of Flagstaff Management Services Department

Favorite Quote or Motto: There are too many great quotes to pick just one. I do my best to practice good ethics in my personal and professional life and uphold the values of the City of Flagstaff: Accountability, Responsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Teamwork, Problem-Solving and provide "Service at a Higher Elevation."
