February 15, 2012 | 11:30am - 1:30pm | Come Learn About Jim Casey Programs - Open to Nonprofits
The Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative, Inc. was created from a vision that every youth aging out of foster care should have access to the opportunities and supports needed for a successful transition to adulthood.
The Jim Casey policy agenda is shaped by the understanding of the transition needs of young people, informed by data, and in partnership with young people, communities, and public agencies.
Society’s responsibility to young people leaving foster care does not end on their 18th birthday. Instead, the Jim Casey overarching framework seeks to assure that young people are “connected by 25.”
In order to make a successful transition to adulthood, all young people need:
° A permanent family
° Race equity
° A stable education
° Opportunities to achieve economic success
° A place to live
° Access to health care
° Opportunities to be engaged
Join us at this AGF session, open to both funders and nonprofits, to learn about the success and challenges of the current 13+ Jim Casey Youth Opportunity sites across the country and plans for possible expansion to Arizona.

February 29, 2012 | 2:00pm - 3:30pm | Rural Funders Affinity Group
Join your peers as we discuss successes gained through the 2011 AZRDC Rural Policy Forum and start planning the 2012 event
On August 12, about 150 rural nonprofits employees met with grantmakers to discuss their nonproft and project ideas. This was a new format that AZRDC decided to implement as part of the Rural Policy Forum, and based on evaluation results and direct feedback was a great success.
As funders, we would like to come together to discuss some of the innovative ideas you funded as an outcome of the conference and start looking for ways to partner in 2012.
Your feedback, even if you were unable to attend the conference, is critical as we proceed with this important initiative.
We will meet at the Arizona Community Foundation on February 29th from 2:00pm - 3:30pm.
You will also have the opportunity to discuss any current, relevant topics affecting your organization and rural funding.
This program is only open to funders!
Please RSVP by February 24, 2012
